The war in Ukraine, the arrival of thousands of displaced people with good training, and the current shortage of skilled workers in Austria gave rise to the idea for the jobs-for-ukraine platform at the beginning of March 2022. It is a private, free of charge initiative of Franz Hillebrand, CIO at SIGNAEric-Jan Kaak (SPAR ICS) and Alexander Kucera, Managing Director of agencylife.

Since 11 March 2022, displaced persons from Ukraine have been allowed to stay in Austria and work here for at least one year. The platform offers displaced Ukrainians the opportunity to search for and find vacancies/potential jobs in Austria. In return, the companies that register themselves on this platform can offer their vacancies here and get in direct contact with potential job seekers.

Well-known Austrian companies such as T-Systems, Kika/Leiner, ÖAMTC, Verbund, SIGNA, Sony DADC, ÖBB, PALFINGER, Austrian Hotel Association, and many more have already partnered up with the initiative.

The aim is to provide jobs for Ukrainians directly, quickly, and free of charge. The platform is open for all industries.

In the first phase, the platform itself is deliberately kept uncomplicated and structured in English. The participating companies can register on the platform and post their open jobs for the target group. The job postings are checked before activation and only appear after a positive check. This prevents misuse of the platform.
