Job Description

Verkehrsauskunft Österreich VAO GmbH is a subsidiary of ARGE ÖVV, ASFINAG, ÖBB, ÖVDAT, BMK and ÖAMTC, which develops and operates an intermodal route planner for all public transport, private transport, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. For more than five years, the VAO has been operating the route planners of almost all traffic information providers in Austria such as AnachB, ÖAMTC, ASFINAG, Wien Mobil and the transport associations with over 40 million route queries per month.

To strengthen our team we are looking for DevOps Engineer with Focus on Ops.

Your tasks:

Ongoing operational management & „daily checks“ of the VAO systems and applications
Analyzing & solving malfunctions & problems
Automating & further developing the application architecture and data supply (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, GIT)
Install & configure new services
Monitoring & ensuring reliability, performance, and much more.

Your profile:

Completed technical IT training (HTL, FH, university)
Experience in operating LINUX server systems
Experience with database systems (e.g. PostgreSQL, MariaDB .)
User knowledge of SQL, XML, JSON and Shell Script
Knowledge of complex IT architectures an advantage
Knowledge of virtualization and containerization systems is an advantage (e.g. VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, GIT…)

We offer an attractive salary for this position that corresponds to your qualifications and experience as well as your individual performance.

For legal reasons, we would like to point out that the collectively agreed minimum salary for this position is EUR 3,094 gross per month based on full-time employment. Willingness to overpay is given. We offer modern work equipment (laptop, smartphone, screen also for home office), flexible working hours and the opportunity to work up to 50% in the home office.
