at the Research Group Visualization and Data Analysis

The Research Group Visualization and Data Analysis is looking for an Organisational Assistant to support the research group and its tasks within the Faculty of Computer Science. This is a temporary replacement position with the option of extension for the duration of the employee’s actual absence. Our group consists of an international team of researchers in a stimulating, creative working environment for a challenging activity in terms of content and design.

The position is to be filled for the duration of the absence of a staff member.

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §54 VwGr. IIIa, minimum of 2,210.2 gross/month (based on full-time employment of 40h/week), 14 times per year
with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include providing professional administrative support to the research group “Visualization & Data Analysis”:

Supporting the research group in international activities:

– Organization and coordination of conferences

– Organization and coordination of research proposals and research contracts

– Organization and coordination of international researchers (PhD students, visiting professors, etc.)

General organizational and administrative tasks, including:

– Assisting guest lecturers

– Administration and accounting in the area of third-party funds, budget, and personnel of the professorship

– Preparation of interim reports

– Organization of teaching

Profile:

Prerequisites for application or admission are:

– General or vocational middle or high school education
– Excellent language skills in English and German (written and spoken)
– Experience in organizing and conducting conferences
– PR experience / experience in the preparation of promotional materials
– Excellent written and oral communication skills
– High social and communication skills
– Ability to work in a team
– Interest in further training
– Experience in MS Office (incl. Excel/Word), Tableau, Adobe InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator, SAP knowledge an advantage
– Experience with a content management system (e.g. Typo3)
