Georg Fischer Fittings GmbH with production and sales in the market town of Traisen, Lower Austria, is one of the largest employers in the region. Around 400 employees produce and sell around 50 million ready-to-install pipe connection parts in the dimension range 1/8 to 4 inches per year. The products, so-called threaded fittings and PRIMOFIT clamp connectors made of malleable cast iron, are manufactured at the site in the complete vertical integration from melting the molten iron to the finished product and more than 90% are exported.
The technical teaching jobs required for production in Traisen are trained in the in-house training workshop. Specifically, as a state-approved training company, Georg Fischer continuously trains apprentices in the fields of metal technology, electrical engineering and mechatronics.
